About MEGAN BEADLE
Megan Beadle is a neurodivergent fantasy and literary author writing dark Norse-inspired romantasy about Valkyries, Reapers, and warring afterlives. A freelance editor and former acquiring editor at Dundurn Press with over a decade in publishing, she’s a chronically ill mom with ADHD, Dysautonomia, and Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome who builds epic worlds in the margins of nap times and flare days. Her short fiction appears in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction and The Antigonish Review, and The New Quarterly. She is a winner of the Room Magazine Short Story Award and a Watty Award for Worldbuilding.
She grew up across seven counties and now lives in Toronto with her husband and son, where she edits other people’s books when her own characters won’t behave. Which is most of the time. She is documenting the process of writing her debut publicly — slowly, and one disaster at a time.

Book Coaching
Are you having trouble finishing your manuscript? Have you completed your manuscript but can’t decide what route to go: self publishing, indie publishing, or querying literary agent to major publisher route? Are you trying to query but getting no results? Are you sick of rejections? Maybe you need a writing and accountability coach or tips and excercises to improve your writing. Every writer has different challenges and it is my job to help you through them. As your coach I can help you with your query letter and agent list, create writing schedules and an encouraging environment, develop non-fiction proposals, assist with the self publishing process, help you build your publication list, beta read and tailor your experiences to your personal goals and needs. Developmental / Substantive Editing
Big picture editing that focuses on structure, form, plot, character, pacing, and larger scale feedback for non-fiction or fiction manuscripts.
Manuscript Evaluation
The manuscript is read with a general eye towards development and improvement. However, it is less in-depth and more affordable than a full developmental edit, while still providing constructive feedback on elements including style, tone, character, plot, pacing, and industry recommendations.
Copy Editing
Copy editing focuses on mechanical aspects of writing such as spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure. I reference the Chicago Manual of Style and provide a style sheet for all copy edits.
Proofreading
This is the final stage of editing before sending something to print. I focus on consistency, accuracy, formatting, and typos, ensuring quality in the final text.
Teaching & Speaking Engagements
I am available for publishing, writing, and editing courses or speaking engagements. Companies I’ve worked with in the past include The Writers’ Union of Canada, the Ontario Library Association, the Mississauga Arts Council Breakthrough to Writers’ Success, and the Canadian Authors Association.
